Ivan & Louise Motherhood was built from a dream to create beautifully simple, distraction-free images. Images that allow you to savor the magnitude of those quiet moments with your little ones. As a mother, I know the challenges and understand the far-from-beautiful feeling we experience in our motherhood journeys, but your session is meant to take you to the sweet moments - feeling the weight of their body on yours, the way their head nestles into the crook of your neck, the way they look into your eyes. The pieces of the moments when you feel less than beautiful, but they see you as the most beautiful and magical being.
I'm so proud to share these sessions with you, and maybe even more, with your children. For just a moment, imagine what it might feel like for them when they’re grown to flip through photographs of themselves with their mom – their comfort, their safe place. The woman who cried with them, celebrated with them, and was simply there with them. Photographs with their mother. Photographs of you as a mom. Reach out to share a bit about who you are, what makes motherhood what it is for you, a little about your child, and your favorite things about your relationship with your him/her. I want to hear your story.
After booking and scheduling your session, I will walk you through tips on how to make the most of our time together. Don't stress about what to wear. We have a curated wardrobe available for you and your children.
This session is a time for you to simply love on your little ones while I document the sweet connection between you. Your session will be unique to you and your child(ren). Maybe you love playing together. Maybe nursing your baby is when you feel most whole. Maybe dance parties are your thing. Whatever it is, I'll document exactly what makes your relationship so special.
When you were younger, chances are when your family had photographs taken, they were on film and they ordered products from the photographer. In recent years, everything has changed to digital images with an online gallery. It can be so wonderful, but it can also be heartbreaking when those photos stay online and aren't printed, hung, bound, or held with the hands of family members. We have a beautiful collection of products I am proud to share with you. I'll walk you through step by step and help you choose gorgeous heirloom pieces for your home and generations to come.

First, reach out to us to let us know you're interested in having those sweet family moments captured by us! I am happy to answer any and all questions you can think of. Once you're ready, we'll secure your session quickly and easily. If you're waiting on that tiny little baby to arrive, I'll pencil in your due date and we'll wait until he/she arrives to plan the session date, which is always best within the first two weeks.

After we've secured everything, I'll send you all the details you need for how to plan for your session - including helpful tips for choosing your outfits, ways to help with feeling comfortable in front of the camera, keeping baby happy, and more.

THE SESSION
Lifestyle newborn sessions typically last about an hour and always take place in your home - the place you're most comfortable. I'll get lots of variety for your gallery including details of the nursery, snuggles with just mom, hanging with just dad, the full family, and baby alone. Typically, we do photos in the nursery, mom & dad's room, and maybe the living room! It'll be very relaxed, I promise. Just lots of snuggles!

WHAT TO EXPECT
Please don't stress or worry about baby getting hungry, crying, spitting up on their outfit, etc.! I assure you I'm very laid-back and these things happen! We simply go with the flow and will capture those special moments no matter what, even if it takes a bit longer than expected. The most important thing is to simply enjoy your family during the session. The rest is on me!

First and foremost, I'll send you a few sneak peeks shortly after your session. I know how exciting it is to see a few and if you're like me, you're just super anxious to get a little peek! Within 2 weeks of your session, you'll receive an online gallery with all edited, high-resolution images from me. You can download, save, print, and share directly from the gallery. They're yours forever! After that, I simply hope we stay in touch and I'm able to photograph your family as time goes on!
